Capacity options

We produce best NVMe SSD controller with solid state drives now becoming just as prevalent on the market as hard drives, you’ve probably been wondering which is right for you.

The biggest advantage of NVMe is its lower latency and much higher throughput. This is mostly due to a streamlined storage stack and the fact that NVMe requires no register reads to issue a command. AHCI (SATA) requires four uncachable register reads per command, which results in ~2.5µs of additional latency. Another important improvement is support for multiple queues and higher queue depths. Multiple queues ensure that the CPU can be used to its full potential and that the IOPS is not bottlenecked by single core limitation.

Solid state drives
vs. hard drives

Most people now buy laptops for their computing needs and have to make the decision between getting either a Solid State Drive (SSD) or Hard Disk Drive (HDD) as the storage component. So which of the two is the better choice, an SSD or HDD?

There’s no straight-forward answer to this question; each buyer has different needs and you have to evaluate the decision based on those needs, your preferences, and of course budget. Even though the price of SSDs has been falling, the price per gigabyte advantage is still strongly with HDDs.
